As the show derives from the Mount Mulligan Station the animals are working animals from the station. Cattle Stations derive their income from the growing of cattle. These stations are vast in size and the cattle are free to roam the far reaches of the station. The cattle need to be gathered together to be either rotated around the station or mustered together to get ready for market. Using horses is still the best practice on a cattle station but they too have a personality and spirit that needs to work in harmony with the horseman. The horse and rider quickly learn each others intentions and then the unity begins and the artistry of animal and man comes to life.

The muster, cutting out and pure riding expertise are displayed. On stations within Australia are also modern tools like quad bikes, bull-catchers and helicopters. Depending on the venue and legal requirements the show displays a magnificent taste of outack Australia.
